PET FUTURES
Exploring new product opportunities at the intersection of pets, technology, and the home.

OVERVIEW
I led a three-person industrial design team exploring how LG's existing technology capabilities could address emerging needs for pets and their owners. Through research, opportunity mapping, and concept development, we identified new product experiences that extended LG's expertise into the growing pet-care space.

FINDING THE OPPORTUNITY
Five recurring themes emerged.
We studied the everyday routines of pet owners to understand where existing products and services created friction, and where technology could meaningfully improve the experience.
Across these routines, we identified five recurring areas where unmet needs and opportunities consistently surfaced. These became the framework for focusing our exploration.

01 HEALTH + HYGIENE

02 FOOD + DRINK

03 ACTIVITY

04 BONDING

05 MAINTANENCE
MAPPING THE EXPERIENCE
Understanding which moments matter... and which create friction.
We mapped everyday pet-care activities by user effort and emotional reward, helping the team identify opportunities where technology could reduce friction without removing the meaningful interactions owners valued.
